چکیده

Drowsy driving is one of the factors that leads to a fatal car accident and also a serious problem we combat for extermination. Caution-advisory indicators and alarm sounds are the most general approached to prevent drowsy driving. However these visual and auditory information are excessive enough to alert drivers. This study aims to focus on olfactory stimuli, which do not provoke interference with driving actions, and examines the effectiveness in combating drowsiness. Using four types of fragrance such as peppermint, rosemary, eucalyptus and lemon, we performed investigations on the effectiveness of each fragrance while changing presentation method in order to remain alert against drowsy driving.

Lane Change Trajectory Model Considering the Driver Effects Based on MANFIS

The lane change maneuver is among the most popular driving behaviors. It is also the basic element of important maneuvers like overtaking maneuver. Therefore, it is chosen as the focus of this study and novel multi-input multi-output adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system models (MANFIS) are proposed for this behavior. These models are able to simulate and predict the future behavior of a Dri...

Using the Reaction Delay as the Driver Effects in the Development of Car-Following Models

Car-following models, as the most popular microscopic traffic flow modeling, is increasingly being used by transportation experts to evaluate new Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications. A number of factors including individual differences of age, gender, and risk-taking behavior, have been found to influence car-following behavior. This paper presents a novel idea to calculate ...

Investigation of Friction Coefficient Effects on Fishtail Defect in Hot Ring Rolling Process

Hot ring rolling is a highly nonlinear, unsteady-state and asymmetry process which is affected by many parameters. The friction coefficient between the ring ,the driver roll and the idle roll is one of the problems, which has significant effect on the quality of final product. In this study, the effect of these two parameters on hot ring rolling was investigated based on a 3D coupled-thermo mec...
